Custom development beyond the website

A successful redesign could not stop at the public-facing website. International Deal Gateway’s blockchain application was an important part of the digital experience and needed to move with it.

Pulsion developed a new custom WordPress website for International Deal Gateway while simultaneously addressing the technology behind its existing blockchain application.

Rather than treating the application as a separate legacy environment, the project included moving it onto PHP and WordPress so the website and application could operate within a more connected technology foundation.

This required more than visual design. The development team needed to understand how the existing application functioned, determine how it could be supported within the new environment and execute the migration alongside development of the new website.

The completed project gave International Deal Gateway the new custom website it required while successfully transitioning its application onto the new platform.

Challenges

Replacing the website without leaving the application behind

International Deal Gateway’s digital presence included more than marketing pages. Its blockchain application was part of the underlying technology, which meant replacing the website without considering the application would have created a fragmented environment.

The project therefore needed to account for both. Pulsion developed the new custom WordPress website while planning the application’s transition into the PHP and WordPress environment.

Combining web and application development

Custom website development and application migration require different capabilities, but the finished experience needed to function as one environment.
